Exploration of Interest – Burren United Under 12 Boys Winter League

Following the very enjoyable ASTRO turf juvinile leagues which have been run over the last two years Burren United Schoolboy Soccer Club is proposing to run an expanded League and training programme starting in mid October and culminating with finals and Social event around Christmas time.

We ask that you consider the details below and respond as requested so we can access the feelings, interest and ideas before finalising plans for the League.

Outline of Draft ideas re the League

Q ; Who is eligible to take Part ?

A ; Boys born 2000, 2001, 2002 & 2003 Living in the North Clare Area served by Burren Utd Soccer Club who are members of or may be interested in Joining the Club for 2013 Season.

Q; When and How long will the League run for ?

A: 8/10 weeks

Q: How are Teams / Selected ?

A; 5 a Side teams will be selected by managers and trainers of Burren Utd to ensure all sides shoild be evenly balanced. It is hoped to have 8 Teams.

Q; When and Where will League and training be held?.

A: ASTRO turf in North Clare Amenity Park Lisdoonvarna

Q: Will there be a charge to take Part?

A: Yes a charge of between €3/€5 per player per session will apply to cover cost of facility hire, possible medals and end of year party.

Q:What will the session consist of

A; 30 min of appropriate Sports training and 30min of League game each night.

We Ask your feedback on the following in order to assist us in planning the League.

Will you commit to Supervisory duty on at least one evening over the duraton of the League?

How do you feel about the end of season Party or Having Tea/Coffee available for Social opportunity for Parents during the League ?

A Republic of Ireland Jersey – signed by the Irish Football team is to be raffled locally in aid of our sports facilities. The jersey was signed by the squad on the night that they qualified for the Euro 2012 championships against Estonia. The FAI kindly donated this to our community after their visit last year – to help reduce the debt of the North Clare Sports and amenity Park.
