The Colleen Bawn @ The Pavilion
‘The Colleen Bawn’ by Dion Boucicault will be performed by Duked Productions at The Pavillion Theatre, Lisdoonvarna,
on Saturday June 18th at 8.30pm. It is a fun and charming Irish melodrama set in the 18th Century. It is based on the true story of a young Limerick girl, Ellen Hanley, who was killed and whose body was discovered in County Clare. This play focuses on the lighter side of the story and the experienced cast deliver a dynamic and entertaining show.
Duked Productions was set up in 2011 by Ailish Leavy. ‘The Colleen Bawn’ is the company’s second production. While the company is Dublin based, this production boasts a cast of actors from all over the country including local man, Gerry Howard, who is no stranger to treading the boards.
The Pavillion Theatre will be the final performance of a three week tour and the cast are delighted to be performing in County Clare. “It seems fitting that we should pay tribute to Ellen Hanley in some way and so we are delighted to do that by performing in Couny Clare,” said Company Director Ailish Leavy.
Tickets are available at The Pavillion Theatre. 15/12euro (concession for OAPs, Social Welfare, Students & Children)
